maiz

projects

Developing and executing projects becomes more and more of an ecomomic necessity as funding of daily work continually decreases. But it also creates the opportunity to focus on different daily experiences and work on them through different point of views and areas of expertise.

funding bodies

maiz’s work was funded in 2011 by the following bodies:

BKA – Frauenangelegenheiten und Gleichstellung

BM:UKK - Sektion IV - Kultur

BM:UKK – Sektion II - Erwachsenenbildung

BM  f. Gesundheit

BM  f. Wirtschaft, Familie und Jugend

Europäische Kommission (Daphne III)

principles

Autonomy: maiz is independently run. maiz is not affiliated with any party, church or other form of organization.

Self-organization: The first and foremost requirement for our work is that we are self-organized. maiz is a self-organization run by migrant women with an acute awareness and critical distance from neoliberal ideas.

Collective Self-Empowerment: We address the existing structures of power and domination critically in order to change them.
