Preventive Measures Against Gender-Based Violence for Young Migrant Women*

The project "We’ve got the power" demands every person’s right to a life free from violence – a life without harassment, sexism, racism, and discrimination, marked by solidarity, trust, confidence, and joy.

The goals of the project are to work together with young migrant women* to develop strategies against violence and to strengthen their resistance. Throughout the year, various activities are offered that address topics such as gender-based violence, sexism, equality, and patriarchal structures in caring and reflective spaces. In workshops, meetings, and excursions, creative responses and possibilities of action are explored to equip participants with arguments and strategies that empower them in everyday life and spark change in their surroundings.

The first series of workshops combines reflection with embodied practices. Participants explore physical forms of articulating their positions, share experiences, and develop strategies against violence. The follow-up discussion rounds, Girlztalks*, combine exchange and input with the goal of raising awareness and fostering understanding of the forms and consequences of violence. Building on this, a multi-day intensive workshop deepens the processes from the earlier stages of the project and encourages a creative exploration.
